Petition - Croyde planning application - green field in AONB

We don’t need any more camping! Croyde has plenty. About time the residents came first!

We really need to stop Croyde from becoming a giant holiday camp. Applications are being submitted continually and the residents are being ignored. There are residential properties all around this campsite and these people already tolerate the noise and disruption during the summer season. Why should they be subjected to an increase in this disruption just for someone else to make a profit? Also the access is on a busy junction with poor visibility and is an accident waiting to happen?

I strongly object to this application for all the reasons listed.

Please do not allow this. We live just up the road and the entrance to this is on a corner of a busy Moor Lane at the junction with Jones’s Hill and Stentaway Lane . This junction already has its problems with so many people just pulling out into the oncoming traffic. This green space in an area of AONB and is very important, especially as it is so near to residential properties.

As far as I know Croyde is still designated as a holiday village. It is NOT a holiday resort. It is also the home for many permanent residents whose lives are disrupted in the summer months when we are happy to share our lovely village with visitors. However, we do need some respite from the pressure put on local services during normal holiday times and look forward to a period of quiet out of season. This application shows no respect for locals, the AONB, or wildlife. It is greedy and unnecessary, and granting it would open the door to more similar unnecessary applications.

The owner of this field has tried repeatedly through numerous failed applications and a subsequent appeal, to develop this green field with houses. Then they increased the days camping on the site this year and now this attempt to increase it yet again. If the applications to develop this green space was refused at even appeal - then why should this application get the go ahead. Whilst not a permanent development, it would sway the balance between open field to field with tents/camper vans and cars on, the wrong way. To the detriment of the AONB. Please keep green spaces green.

This is yet another example of overdevelopment in a small village which is struggling to cope in the summer.

Croyde is a place that I have loved ever since I was a child , part of my family live in this beautiful village and own a camp site. In my opinion there are far too many camp site’s already there is no need for another one

I have lived in croyde my whole life and enough is enough! We welcome holiday makers but we are still a living breathing village community and our roads, sewerage and infrastructure cannot cope

Please leave our green fields

AONB..... ? ! Infrastructure, historic landscape.... will raise with CPRE. Disgraceful.

If granted, this could set a precedent for other applications for the same terms. Croyde simply cannot cope with more visitors. The infrastructure is stretched beyond capacity already. The location of this campsite is likely to cause inconvenience and distress to those living in close proximity. The proposal makes no consideration for the impact on wildlife. There are no good reasons that this should go ahead, the effects will be detrimental to residents and wildlife, and the benefits extend only to those making money.

Please continue to refuse these ridiculous applications made at an alarming rate by people who clearly do not care about or live in croyde
