Love Johnson. We need a healthy balance in our counseling. This exemplifies why I left the SBTS.

God has a great calling on Dr. Johnson's life. I feel sorry for SBTS for losing him. I don't feel sorry for Dr. Johnson because i rejoice that now he will go somewhere he is celebrated won't constantly have to defend himself and his Godly calling.

It is intellectually dishonest to take an "either or" stance on Dr Johnson's work. Biblical counseling or therapeutic care. It is clearly BOTH working in unison together to bring help, hope, and healing to those suffering with mental and emotional diseases. Certainly we can have a more mature dialogue about this and allow Dr Johnson to continue his work AND keep his job at SBTS.

This greatly saddens me to see a faithful teacher and professor fired over something such as this. He has been a professor here for years and SBTS has known his position on things....why fire him now? Just bc of pressure from Lambert? Yeah..that's godly behavior right there....come on Southern. I personally received counseling from a biblical counselor studying under Lambert for very significant trauma I experienced as a child and was deeply wounded by it bc this person was ill equipped to care for me. I then reeeived care from one who studied under Dr Johnson for years and it was a breath of fresh air and set me on a true path of healing and learning grace in Christ instead of further condemnation that I heard from the BC camp. I am thankful for Dr Johnson and his ministry! The church needs more people like him!

M.Div SBTS 2016 This news is extremely saddening. Through Dr. Johnson's classes, I have learned more about the love and grace of God and my union with Him then ever before. My marriage and my life have changed for the better. It is heart breaking that students at Southern will no longer have the opportunity to learn from such a great man of faith. He will be a blessing wherever he goes, but the students at SBTS are now at a real loss.

As an alumni of SBTS this makes me ashamed of mohler and this school. 100% behind Dr. Johnson.

Dr. Johnson has distinguished himself by recommending pastoral soul care that is theologically sound and psychologically responsible. It is inconceivable to me that someone would object to his thoughtful, careful, biblically rooted scholarship. His unwarranted dismissal puts the seminary leadership in a terrible light, and I pray amends will soon be made. Dr. Bill DeJong, Blessings Christian Church

I am disgusted at this firing because it disregards psychology and psychiatry. Having suffered from depression for the duration of my life, without the help of my therapist I would not be here today. To ignore the benefits of psychological science is dangerous.

My heart breaks! I've been in class with each and the difference is obvious. With Dr Johnson, there was reason and theology and grace and humility. He didn't want to "root out" those who disagreed. I'm forever changed by how I think and react to situations because of him. I saddened to hear this news! I just hope he finds a place that treats him like the wealth of knowledge he is.

Mohler is a wimp! He claims to stand for scripture but if it affects his money and precious prestigious name, he will cave every single time. He treats people like crap! The man uses lots of Christian-ese to convince people he is right. He is a coward controlled by the ways of the world. Not impressed-- never have been! Oh and on a personal note, if you disagree with him-- he will make your life a living hell.
