Petition Against The Total Road Closure in Graveney

9 weeks in to long to shut as we rely on the road

It would make life very difficult for everyone ana big inconvenience

The proposed full closure of the road through Graveney will be a massive inconvenience which will have disruptive, cost, welfare and safety consequences.

The total road closure will be a total nightmare for my family who live in Graveney - a diversion through Whitstable will be a total nightmare. THINK AGAIN AND STOP THIS ROAD CLOSURE

The closure of the road will cause massive disruption, inconvenience and risk to the residents of the village.

This is rediculous to shut the road off for 9 weeks. Surely a traffic light system can be put in place.

No need to close the road completely, why not sheet it when and where they're not working on it

There has to be an alternative plan to the current totally disruptive & unacceptable 2-months one.

This can't be allowed. We have to have access to our homes without having to go many miles around the works to get home. Temp lights are surely the answer. What about the bus route? What about parents driving their children to the school?

I use this road regularly as a cyclist. There are no sensible road alternatives between Faversham and Whitstable

It's ridiculous the amount of times the roads around graveney are closed over the last year I've been late for appointments due to traffic being diverted if the job was done properly in the first place there would be no need to cause local people and businesses the hassle of getting places

This is wholly unacceptable for the businesses, school and residents of Graveney.. we have endured years of traffic congestion from the Solar park this is a step too

This closure is very badly planned.

We have a 3 year old who needs fast access to childcare. Shutting the entire road is not an acceptable course of action. Also we have large battery storage for the solar farm. If that catches fire the fire services are really going to struggle to respond. As with any elderly residents of the villages. How will emergency services reach them should they need it?

I am a resident of Goodnestone and feel we are being unfairly treated and abandoned to “get on with it” by an enforced total road closure, when a partial road closure with access via the use of temporary traffic lights, would be a much more considerate and constructive option.

This is an unreasonable amount of time for this important road to be closed. This should have been discussed with the residents beforehand and planned in stages and the work undertaken overnight.

This is completely impractical for those living and working in the area.

Headhill Road should not be totally closed for 2 months. There must be a traffic light system installed to allow movement for local residents., as the alternative route is ridiculous.

My severely disabled daughter needs access to emergency care at home and ambulance services. She also has a KCC school transport contract which cannot be fulfilled if the road is fully closed. Therefore this would actually cost KCC as school bus cannot get to us another way.

We are a small community with just 1 road, isolating us like this is unacceptable, especially as there are ternative ways of doing the work
