WE SAY NO TO THE DIVISION OF THE WESTERN TOGO LAND (Volta Region)

If the Goverment is serious about Development they should strengthen the District / Municipal/Metro Assemblies . And make the Regional Administrations redundant. Service the District Authorities with funding direct from the Consolidated fund, give theme the power to invite invite investors direct to see the resources in their catchment area. Allow th em access to international finance Market to look for much needed funds for the development of their priority projects like housing Water and reliable power supply. All this can be achieved with a non partisan approach which the golden rule of the District Assemble governance - POWER TO THE PEOPLE. I beg of the Government to shred the idea of creating more regions. GHANA IS JUST TOO SMALL TO CREATE MORE POLITICAL POSITIONS WHICH IS A DRAIN ALREADY ON THE ECONOMY. Please cut the middle men off and deal directly with the people in the District's because they own the resources . After all the National Government and the Regional Authorities or Administrations are all situated a District Authority Land own by the Chiefs and people of that area. Be wise

No to oti region

Splitting the region won't bring that much anitcepated fenicial breakthrough, What I think the government is to do is to create more district to oversee the disbursement of funds and make sure the right money goes to the right place for developmental project. And more over all those crying for the split of the Volta Region are just settlers, and I don't understand why a setttler should come asking for split of region because the think they have lieved there for too long. More over the Volta is a state on it own.... I stand against the splitting of the Region, it won't bring any good thing. We all know how our lands have been taken from us. The Akosomno, Akuse and the rest.... Please I stand against the splitting of my region.

Please don't be deceived, I work in the north Volta and I can tell you that the people here are making very serious arguments for the division to take place. They are seriously united on this. This petition is too shallow to make any impact. Please restructure it

I am against the splitting of the Volta region but the tone of this petition will not give us any serious hearing. It sounds more of an attack on the president and his government without emphasising the core issues Petitions on such matters should be silent on political matters such as strong hold of political parties. This petition should be sighting issues like 1 America is strong because they are united and large 2. The upper East region is still counted among the poorest regions in Ghana 34 years after its creation in the name of fast tracking development This petition should be offering alternate solution such as 1.demanding accountability from our leaders 2. The political will to establish the decentralization system properly 3. Ensuring that every district and municipal receives its share of the common fund regularly 4. Ensuring that MPs common fund is paid regularly Please do the necessary changes. There are more people out there ready to sign. But our signatures must be meaningful

I sign against the division of Volta Region. Ashanti is more than twice Volta, why not divide it rather?
