I am a parent and do not believe the new meal plan is in our students' best interests. My student has an extremely full schedule and has little time to eat between classes. A buffet for lunch just isn't an option. Paying for a plan that provides two to three buffet swipes a day will be a huge waste of money. Miami has invested in very nice a la carte locations that work well for busy students. This new plan does not make sense.

I do not approve because I do not eat at the dinning halls because I do not enjoy the food there.

Using the current meal plan you can buy whatever you want, practically whenever you want, wherever you want. With the new meal plan you will be forced to eat at mainly the dining halls -- places that always had me sick -- and you won't be able to take it to go. Additionally, it used to roll over. The new meal plan expires each semester with whatever you don't use.

As our society becomes more and more obese and unhealthy, it is a shame that a university would encourage its students to eat 3 buffet meals each day. My daughter may eat 1 or 2 in a week, as she eats breakfast in her room and doesn't have time between classes for an extensive meal.

Location of buffets are not convenient for student at there busy schedule. Parents would be paying more money for kids meals.

Considering the ever sky rocketing costs of college I would hope Miami would take this into consideration and not further complicate the process. I am completely confused about the push on buffet dining. It is much quicker for my daughter to go to the a la carte dining options. It saddens me that we are always being nickel and dimed.

Given the amount of money this institution charges for tuition plus room and board, the last thing we need is to make campus life MORE DIFFICULT for the students!

A la carte locations are more accessible and time fitting. Dining hall swipes will hardly be used. I don't see the new meal plan as a positive change.

Love the dollar amount for meal swipes idea, as long as this dollar amount was a fair representation according to the amount of food eaten at a buffet vs a to go place. By this I mean that the equivalent dollar amount for a buffet should theoretically be able to purchase two to go meals
