Petition Against the New Meal Plan-Miami University 2016

I am very against the new changes to the meal plan. The lowest amount of buffet swipes is 225, which averages to about 2 buffet meals a day. I personally do not have the time or appetite to frequent these locations and much prefer using a la carte locations for their ease and flexibility. With only three rather extreme meal plan options available, I will definitely lose money each semester. I hope that Miami listens to the students and parents concerns and makes necessary changes to the plan.

I find myself eating at the a la carte locations much more than the dining halls. It's easier for me since my schedule is already busy and is only going to get busier.

We as the students who are paying for the meal plan should be able to decied how our money is spent. The new meal plan will only hurt the school as I know for a fact my other friends and I will not have enough time to eat at the buffet locations, most of our meals will be bought from Kroger or other grocieres. If I want to pay the outrageous 1,600.00 charge, let me! Why are you stopping the ones who are fine with the meal plan and forcing us into something the majority of us do not want. Nice job Miami Administartion!

My daughter will be moving off campus next year, so thankfully we don't have to choose one of these new meal plans. They certainly wouldn't work for her. At the most, she has had one buffet meal since she started at Miami in the fall of 2014.

I support our family of 5 on less money. Just close the facility and let the students eat what and when they can. But, again, it is just like the progressive/liberal mentality...you dictate who can "eat cake." It should be a pay/meal setup, not propping up an undesired service through forced/coerced participation. Shame, shame MU. Time for another mascot change...from Redskins to Redhawks, to REDCOMS!!!

This is a ridiculous and obvious grab for the students' money. Miami must think their students are pretty stupid to think we don't see that.

I'm a college student parent and have been very concerned regarding the quality, raising cost and availability of affordable and healthy meal plan options on student campus. It went out of control and needs to be fixed!

Signing as a student who has to pay for her education - more of it going to food I'm not going to have time to eat is silly.

This meal plan is more expensive. This making it more difficult for me to continue my education at Miami University. I am from a low-income household and have to fund my own education.

I am signing as a parent not to support the changes to the meal plans

This plan is a takeaway for all students and a clear way to deny students of flexibility and personal meal choices.

There should be a declining balance plan available to everyone without mandatory swipes that students will not use.

Meal plan next year is going to make me and my family go broke

revenue generating for the University at our expense. This is just wrong!!!
