We, the undersigned applicants and concerned citizens of Nigeria, hereby raise our collective voice against the improper conduct of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) recruitment process for the Superintendent Cadre.

During the recent recruitment exercise, many qualified candidates from across the country applied with high hopes for a fair and transparent process. Unfortunately, several irregularities have been observed, including lack of clear communication, unclear shortlisting procedures, and allegations of bias and favoritism in the selection process.

As an agency of national importance, the Nigeria Customs Service is expected to uphold the principles of transparency, merit, and equal opportunity. The perceived flaws in this recruitment process have caused disappointment among many qualified Nigerians who believe they were not given a fair chance.

We therefore call on the following authorities to take urgent and appropriate action:

The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS)

The Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC)

The Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy

Our specific demands are as follows:

1. Conduct an immediate review of the recruitment process for the Superintendent Cadre.

2. Publish a detailed report explaining the shortlisting and selection criteria used.

3. Ensure transparency and fairness by allowing independent oversight or verification of the recruitment procedure.

4. Address public concerns through an official press release and provide clarity for all applicants.

We believe that a fair and open recruitment process strengthens public trust and ensures that only qualified individuals serve in the Nigeria Customs Service. We, therefore, appeal to the authorities mentioned above to act swiftly to correct the flaws and uphold integrity in public service.

To be delivered to:

The Comptroller-General, Nigeria Customs Service

The Chairman, Federal Civil Service Commission

The Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy

Signed,
Concerned Applicants and Supporters of Fair Recruitment in Nigeria
