Education should be provided by nursing educators to those who request or need further training in critical care skills/topics. Staff nurses should not be subject to taking personal time to create presentations. Critical care nurses went through a three-month, comprehensive orientation and should already have a CCU/SICU skill set. Creating presentations at home is taking time away from our days off with no pay. The "Each One Teaches One" project further prolongs morning briefs which robs our patients of the safe quality care that they deserve. This initiative should not be mandatory.
