Animal Hoarding & Starvation case against The Duhons & CCR-Cajun Country Ranch, Oklahoma

June 25th 2011. WILBURTON, OK. After multiple reports made to local authorities of animal starvation and squalid living conditions, nearly 80 severely malnourished animals including pregnant horses, dogs, cats, rabbits, and a duck, were seized from the property of Cajun Country Ranch (CCR), owned by SHANE ADAM DUHON and ANNE MARIE DUHON. The couple allegedly collected funds under the pretense of a registered non-profit rescue organization, but the donations may not have been used to feed or provide veterinary care to any of the animals. Many were suffering from dehydration, malnutrition, heartworms, parasites, and skin disorders. The ranch was supposed to be a rescue haven for animals but in violation of it's non-profit status, was more "like a horror movie", described Latimer County Sheriff Robbie Brooks. Piles of animal bones and remains were scattered over the property. The trailer home floors were covered in trash, feces and cockroaches. The Duhon's three children, 8, 11, and 14 years old, were taken into the custody of D.H.S., after they were found living in deplorable conditions, and were in need of medical treatment resulting from tick, flea, and other insect bites. The couple is charged with animal cruelty and child neglect. THIS PETITION SERVES AS OUR COLLECTIVE VOICES ON BEHALF OF THE TERRIBLY NEGLECTED ANIMALS AND CHILDREN, TO ASK THAT JUSTICE BE SERVED AND THE DUHON'S BE GIVEN THE FULL PENALTY OF THE LAWS THEY HAVE BROKEN AND THE LIVES THEY HAVE HARMED. We will not let this case fall through the cracks! A JURY TRIAL IS SET FOR SEPTEMBER 4, 2012.
