It is absurd to PAY federal officers to do a job that hunters very much want to do. Als

This is yet another poorly thought out and planned effort that is doomed to fail, simply because the numbers do not add up. Even killing 3000 deer IF they do would mean that we will have thousands more young fawns in the spring. Additionally using .243 caliber rifles is dangerous and could easily result in people or property damage or worse

How about getting a longer hunting season, allowing hunters to hunt on more county/state land, allow crossbow hunting during bow season, and stop allowing these pencil pushers from making stupid laws. Many states increase their revenues by allowing crossbow hunting and baiting. Why do we need to pay people to hunt these deer. Some more government waste.... What a shock!!!!!!!

Its funny how if hunters were to kill deer by either baiting or hunting them at night would be subject to jail, but the DEC can do whatever they decide. Its a shame!!!!

the use of sharpshooters at an expense is preposterous in any economy when there are hundreds of hunters willing to do it for free. these fed guys will be breaking every rule we have to follow and they get paid for it. they dont need your permission to enter your property-tresspassing they hunt at night-cheating they use suppressed rifles with night vision optics-highly illegal for you n me and they are gonna be sitting on bait-they would take all my gear, my hunting privileges forever and heavy fines if not imprissonment. if these complaining landowners would allow access to their property they could actually help in making a difference. did you ever ask permission to hunt on any of those palatial estates? they want you off the island never mind their land

Please put a stop to this it's wrong every hunter in Long Island would be happy to have an extended season and they can be controlled and more places for us to bow hunt we don't need high powered rifles and it's much safer for everyone let the hunters do there job

the use of sharpshooters at any expense when hunters will do it for free is preposterous in any economy. allowing the sharpshooters to break every rule we hunters have to adhere to is akin to admittance of the difficulty of the hunt. if hunters were allowed to CHEAT like the feds there would be no deer left. if these same landowners who complain about the deer would allow hunters on their land it would be win win. crossbows would be a great tool and far less dangerous to the public at large than rifles fitted with suppressors and night vision scopes could ever be. last i checked rifles were strictly forbidden on Long Island due to population density. like I said cheating. we cant go near a bait pile until 2 weeks after the bait is gone but i guess thats fine for the cheaters.

I'm all for hunters who will not waste the meat but when federal agents come in with silencers and night vision goggles I have a problem.
