PETITION AGAINST THE CONSTITUTION REVIEW COMMITEE OF NAHUS LASUED OVER CONSTITUTIONAL REVIEW MISREPRESENTATION AND ABUSE OF PROCESS

Formal Petition against the Chairman, Constitution Review Committee, for deliberate misrepresentation, manipulation, and procedural abuse surrounding the recently concluded constitutional review process.
Our concerns are as follows:
1. False Claim of Public Opinion Forum:
In the press release dated June 9th, 2025, the Committee claimed that a Public Opinion Forum was convened on June 4th, 2025. This assertion is categorically false. No such forum was held, and no general invitation or announcement was made to the broader student body. This claim is a clear misrepresentation of events and an attempt to manufacture legitimacy for a process that lacked inclusiveness and transparency
2. Secrecy and Exclusion in the Review Process:
The constitutional review process was conducted in an opaque manner, with limited awareness or participation from the wider student populace. There was no visible or accessible platform for students to engage, review, or contribute to the supposed amendments being proposed, contrary to the principles of participatory governance which the Chairman claims to uphold.
3. Expired Ultimatum from Congress:
It is on record that the Congress issued a clear ultimatum for a properly constituted, inclusive, and transparent review process. That ultimatum has elapsed without compliance, and instead of addressing the concerns raised, the Chairman has pushed forward a process that violates the spirit and letter of democratic representation.
4. Questionable Forwarding for Presidential Assent:
The so-called conclusion and forwarding of the revised Constitution for presidential assent is not only premature but illegitimate. It lacks the authentic voice and endorsement of the Congress and general student body. It is an abuse of office and authority to circumvent due process and present personal or factional interests as collective resolutions.
Our Demands:
• An immediate withdrawal of the June 9th press release and suspension of any presidential assent process.
• A properly announced and open public forum for constitutional review involving all departments and students within the College.
• That the President be summoned before the Congress to address these allegations of
misrepresentation, abuse of office, and disregard for democratic process.
• That the Committee’s mandate be reviewed and expanded to include credible observers from all departments to ensure transparency.
We will not stand by and allow the constitutional foundation of our association to be manipulated through executive fiat and falsehood.
Aluta Continua! Victory Is Certain!
