To all the Sir Cliff Richard fans, this is a petition of complaint to the chairman of the BBC and his handling of the media coverage in partnership with South Yorkshire police.

We would like the Chairman of the BBC to give a public apology to Sir Cliff Richard for the way they have handled this situation.

I am absolutely shocked by this treatment. I always believed that someone was kept of of media until there was an actual charge against them and not just an accusation. Even worse that Cliff had to watch it on TV at the same time as the rest of the world

Cliff is the most giving person in show business, I met Cliff as young man and later in my life. He could not have been nicer or more down to earth. It is time the BBC apologized for the witch hunt and running his good name through the mud!

The coverage of the raid on Sir a Cliff Richard's home following ONE historical complaint was way and beyond fair or necessary. Please address this. It does smack of blatant victimisation and sensationalism. That is not what news coverage is meant to be .

The way that the BBC covered this event is in keeping with the absurd treatment it has given Sir Cliff over the years. We look to the BBC to set the highest standards of professionalism, but instead they have lowered themselves to tabloid standards. Shameful !

The BBC should be ashamed of the way they broadcast the raod on Sir Cliff Richard's apartment on live TV. Sir Cliff has not been interviewed by the Police, nor charged with any wrongdoing yet his reputation is ruined thanks to the BBC. Disgusting.

am disgusted at the treatment of sir cliff Richard and the handling of the media coverage. Total disregard for his human rights. A public apology is the least you can do it doesn't make up for the damage emotionally to cliff and all his devoted fans.

I do not do Twitter or Facebook, but I resent the diea that historical, and unproven accusations should tarnish a persons reputation.
