Having prescription like anti hypertensive drug is very important to ensure correct dosage and form taken by patients. Everyone can make mistake so do doctors. Having prescription helps to minimise errors dealing with drugs as it can be tracked back the dosage written by a doctor.

As a patient, I wonder whether am I have the right to take the prescription wrote by the doctor to a pharmacist for further confirmation that I'm taking the correct medication with accurate dosage and frequency.
Without that prescription, who should I blamed if I took the wrong medication and where is the evidence for me to blame?

I am pharmacy student at University Sains Malaysia. I would like to express my thought about this RUUF. I totally disagree to approve RUUF. There are no one is expert in drug except pharmacist in this medical field. Presriber do not know much about drug as the pharmacist. This is because the pharmacist had learn all about the drug in the university before they become pharmacist. While the physician learn much about the human body function and disease. How can a person who know much in disease and body function instead of drug can prescribe drug. It does not make any sense at all. This pharmacist professional job had separate from the medical and introduced since 1231 in Europe by the Arabs into Sicily. There are a reason for the pharmacist to play a role in the health care system which to avoid any drug side effect and get the drug effectiveness in patient. Thus, pharmacist play an important role in the improve the quality of life of patient. The RUUF will decrease the pharmacist playing part in the health care system.

This RUUF seems like a joke. Seems like a lot of power are going to prescribers, where are the multiple layers of HCPs which meds has to go through to safeguard patient interests?

I am still a pharmacist student and I'm pretty sure we need to think more about patient oriented rather than coming up with this new regulation. We as healthcare provider need to think how to serve the nation as one.

Doctor's job should not be disturbed. I think they have had enough to handle. They should've only focus on their patients and prescribe the medication well without any doubt about the medication available especially in private healthcare centre . Increasing doctor's scope of study is a burden especially student nowadays. They already need to learn much as well as pharmacy student, why do we need to increase each other burden since we have more than enough of mankind supply? Doctor can play their role and give 100% attention to the patients and let the pharmacist dispense the medicine. Let's help each other. Dont be greedy and it is worth if it involve patient's life. Patients are our priority. Pharmacist had learn pretty much and know pretty well about medicine and compounding. So let the pharmacist do their job and the doctor's too. Let's say the govt want to reduce cost by reduce the need of pharmacist, but it is meaningless if it can affect patient's life. This is not fair. They still need to pay high for the doctor who just learn how to compounding medicine and of course they will be lacking in some area since this not their scope. This is maybe not new for them but they to dig deeper to understand more. This is not fair for the fresh graduates and also the patients. So please, consider any of these people.
