Pharmacist as a person who understand deeply in the drug knowledge should involved or supervise any matter pertaining to drug dispensing or compounding in order to ensure patients right are protected.

Please review again.

1. Issuance of prescriptions to patients is not compulsory, is only when patient request for it. Implications: Patients/ consumers in Malaysia generally will not question the judgement of the doctors. We trust them and that is why we let them decide the best for us. However, patients should be given a fair option to decide whether where to get their supply of medication after seeing the doctor. Without a valid prescription, patients are “forced” to keep getting their supply from the clinic and this has denied the basic rights as consumers, the right to choose. The law is supposed to protect the people’s right, not provide a loophole for the professionals to play around with their authority. 2. It is not mandatory to state indications on prescriptions A prescription is a message from a doctor to a pharmacist to request the pharmacist to dispense the medication to the patients. It is also the duty and role of the pharmacists to counter check and screen the prescriptions before dispense the medication. Without the indications stated on prescription, pharmacists are unable to perform their duty and deliver the best service to the patients. How are we supposed to expect that the medications that are supplied to us are correct and safe? 3. Pharmaceutical Compounding can be performed by non-pharmacists Compounding is a specialisation in pharmacist to prepare a customized and specialized preparation for the patient. This is especially important when more and more diseases needed to be treated using personalized medication. It is something that has to be done by someone who has been formally trained, who are the pharmacists. It is not as simple as mixing two types of cream available in the market and compound a new cream. By mixing the wrong ingredient or mix without proper calculation, the results can be fatal. Why should we risk ourselves by allowing people who are not trained to do compounding? 4. Psychotropic medicines can be dispensed by prescribers Psychotropic

Strongly against an act which do not protect patient safety

Healthcare should prioritise patient safety and respect the role of pharmacists in dispensing, compounding, auditing of prescriptions. Unqualified persons cannot be legalised to do these functions.

I'm dissatisfied with RUUF as it is more favorable to doctors n discriminating pharmacist rights.

Everyone has their own responsibilities and expertise. Do respect others and together we create a better healthcare in malaysia

patient's safety should be the priority

Agree. The country healthcare system is going backwards.

hypocrites! when they tell everybody that evolution makes things better for everyone, but they do not... they shrink the expansion of pharmacy profession.

Move forward not backward!!

Medication safety is the priority to assure public health.

Our public and private universities are producing more than 1000 pharmacy graduates per year, yet we are not given jobs according to our profession, i really so disappointed with this.

Doctor keep mention that they can dispense without problem but in the government hospital, pharmacist still found medication errors. It is the same thing goes to clinic doctor. It is grateful that hospital has pharmacist to check the medication but the retail clinic doctor does not have pharmacist to check it. It is very dangerous to patient. Although a mistake might not cause life to patient but it still risk the patient's health. We should move forward instead of backward. The living standard of Malaysian is upgrading. Thus, it will be better to have another health care professional to double check their medication. in order to check their medication, pharmacist require prescription with indicator and full details of patient. Doctors, please do what you are good at and do not go over other professional job. With this law, it is only show that doctors are very irresponsible and greedy on money by using patient paying cost as a "shield" or reason to make this law happen but actually want to make the patient's money all goes to doctors only. Please use your right hand and touch your heart, close your eyes. Then ask yourself, is this the right thing to do?

This does not protect us as non-pharmacist can compound medicines like syrup for us. They will not have enough responsibility to make accurate dose for patients. They should be at least supervised by pharmacists.
