Petition against RUUF

This is not a progressive process. It is a regressive act that moved ex profession backward.

This act is not fair for the pharmacist and future pharmacist. They are trained to do their job but they cant practice it.

We reject solely the RUUF.

Give us a secured health care system. Give respects to pharmacist professionalism. If this DRAFT is implemented, WHAT is the role of pharmacists in Malaysia?

I strongly object ruuf

1. The purpose of issuing a prescription is to record patient's medication history and for prescription screening so that less error will occur. Without prescriptions, in other words, physicians will dispense medications directly after review his patient. This does not only increase human error as the counter-check has been missed out, and also, it would be hard to trace back what the physician has given if he did not record down. 2. The purpose of writing down diagnosis on the prescription slip is to ensure correct medications are given to the patients and ease prescription screening. 3. Pharmaceutical compounding can be performed not necessarily by non-pharmacists. However, non-pharmacists must be trained by pharmacists in order to do so, or the process must be supervised or counter-checked by a pharmacist to minimise unwanted errors. 4. Psychotropic medicines can be dispensed by physicians if they think dispensing is more important than diagnosing as this can easily be done by pharmacists who have knowledge about poisons. Why don't they focus on more precise diagnosis instead of a role that can easily be done by another healthcare professionals? Pharmacists can help to reduce their burden. 5. Just like a medical assistant should be supervised by physicians, a juruteknologi farmasi should be supervised by pharmacists to minimise errors that can happen in the whole process from compounding to dispensing.

We disagree and reject the RUFF

The problems highlighted in the petition is the consequence of a Pharmacy Board comprising 13 State Pharmacists, Pengarah Farmasi, and Chaired by the DG of Health who is a doctor. Together they form a big majority in the Board. What the DG wants, obviously the Pengarah Farmasi would say yes and obviously all the 13 State Pharmacists would say yes too. So the DG can bulldoze the interests of doctors into the Pharmacy Bill and get the yes-men government Pharmacists to agree.

I think this RUUF is not fair to pharmacist. They have their own right to be protected as they are master in drug compared to other healthcare professions.

This law will create tragedy.

Such an unfair replacement for Pharmacy Bill

I am a final year Pharmacy student who strongly hope for a better health care system in Malaysia. Developed countries practise dispensing separation. With this RUUF, we are actually moving backwards. I stand with this petition.

1) if it is not mandatory to give the prescription, then hw the pmacist suppose to dispense the medication correctly esp those drugs that require prescription from the PG? 2) if pharmaceutical compounding can be done also by the non pmacist..the what is left for the pmacist to do? *sorry if the word use was harsh.
