For the well being of the nation's Healthcare and safety of use of medicines, we should come up with up-to-date and enhanced legislation that reflect the best practices already established in many developed countries. Not to retrograde on current laws and open up to more abuses or create new lacunae in the new pharmacy act. This new law is likely to last us for another half century or more, but with all these loopholes just based on the undisclosed portions of the RUUF I have grave concerns about the eventual new pharmacy bill to be tabled in parliament. Knowing the well publicised incompetencies of majority of our parliamentary servants, I doubt very much they can vote intelligently for the overall good governance of healthcare system of our country!

RUUF will affect the pharmacist and future pharmacist. I'm as a student of pharmacy in usm feel this kind of rule will thread of future.. Furthermore, there are so many undergraduate that still for their PRP.. so, government should think logically to ensure that the pharmacy field is strong enough as compare to medical doctor..

This would adversely affect the safety use of medication and increase medication error incidence especially in private hospitals and clinics ..which can incur reduction of medical treatment quality of patients in our country...With the vast increment of no of pharmacists over the years, i truly believe that this is absolutely unnecessary as adequate pharmacists r available out there to play their roles n make their contributions in the healthcare system unless this is for the profit making purpose of private clinics and hospitals.
What matter the most is the welfare and benefits of patients but not for convenience or profits purposes.

Even if we put aside the interests of professionals like doctors and pharmacists, the main aim for all health care professionals is ultimately the patients health and well being.
How are pharmacists or even other doctors supposed to counter check and screen if there are no indications or prescriptions.
Plus this will impede the control on psychotropic drugs if they can be dispensed freely.
Though the full text of the law would need to be reviewed first before the final conclusions can be made.
Let's not rush into a new law that we might regret as a nation and as potential future patients, at the same time, not rush to reject something which we do not fully understand yet.
