They levy is not in all fireness proper.... There are critical issues facing doctors beginning from graduation, to securing placement for horsemanship, to getting placement after passing part 1, even to get a job post part 2....is a big bite. That's why our doctors are shifting their ground abroad, just to survive. Now you think levying the remaining doctors and to build a mansion will be a solution to these problems.

Say no to illegal building project. NMA should not levy any doctor for any building. This is insensitivity of the highest order.

Our collective body should demand for audited account. An external auditor to look into the association "s books to let contributors know how judicious the monies are been disbursed.

I cannot be compelled to pay 40k in the guise of a building levy when in actual fact, the funds are meant to settle cases resulting from bad leadership. The ill manner, bad timing, intimidation and disrespect with which the NMA leadership decided to go about the levy collection is highly appalling, to the extent of making this questionable payment a prerequisite for paying for MDCN practicing license. You can't compel doctors to bring out their hard earned cash while you fail to educate them on what you intend to do with that money. Sad we are always in the news for money matters with poor attempts to improve the quality of healthcare we provide for Nigerians or even the welfare of Nigerian doctors.

Have we considered suing these guys? If they don't listen to this petition, we should simply take them to court. Thank you.

The NMA should focus more on how the Crippling healthcare system can be revived, tackling the Government head on like ASUU is doing, and immediate improvement of the welfare of Doctors to put a stop to Brain drain. Pls let's NMA account be audited by an independent firm from 2008 to date.

It is ill timed and obviously ill advised despite whatever the intention. Building levys are collected by some NMA and ARD state chapters and the task on the salary is crazy especially on IPPIS and the salary is inconsistent still across institutions. This is despite other fees and levels that give no rest to dutiful Nigerian doctor. Some people have not been paid salary in months and still try to remain honorable in giving diligent service. Sneaking in the levy at this time is manipulation and coercion and very unhealthy for the trust and support of the members of this honorable body. This is despite the amount, which I think is out of range for the young Nigerian doctor. NMA should have other plans of raising funds without emptying the already empty pockets of her members, it is only fair that we consider ourselves, else how do we want federal government and other bodies to consider our plight financially. Thank u
