I am against the obnoxious building levy by NMA. What does NMA do with the yearly practice license it collects?
Why not source fund from well placed public & private individuals and or organisations. ?

Is it possible for one to be forced (compulsory) to voluntarily donate and be punished for not doing so? I thought you are only encouraged or convinced to voluntarily donate. Belonging to NMA itself is voluntary (Nigeria constitution) what more of donating to it.

The NMA has gone one step too far. With all our dues they've been collecting all these years, all the licensing fees, exam fees and so on we pay every year, they suddenly want to build a befitting edifice.
NMA please don't.
A building isn't the solution to our problems.

Can they account for the yearly N10,000/N20,000 they receive and then offer us some piece of paper in the name of practicing licence?

This levy is a scam to enrich the pockets of our NMA leaders. The money will never be accounted for and they know it. Very soon it'll be "contribute funds to buy a private NMA jet". There are other ways can raise funds without tasking its members if it wants to as suggested by a member:-

Without Extorting extra Money from Doctors
1) NMA SHOULD use The 70 percent of doctors year Licence fees llects each Year from MDCN of which nothing tangible has been doneforNMA NMA Doctors with the money collected over the past 20 years
2) SINCE THE NMA LAND IS IN A HIGH PROFILE .ABUJA AREA, MAITAMA, NMA SHOULD THEN RENT/LEASE OUT THE LAND FOR LONG TERM LEASE MAYBE 40 YEARS TO A PRIVATE DEVELOPER WHO WOULD BUILD MULTIPLE FLOORS AND GIVE NMA ONE FLOOR TO USE.
