We, current students of MAT 301-013 at the Borough of Manhattan Community College, protest against the issuance and legitimacy of a Final Exam by Professor Michael Kent for the following reasons:
1) the lack of academic instruction on topics to be covered on the aforementioned Exam
2) the lack of review of and feedback on previous exams
3) the Professor's numerous absences throughout the semester resulting in a disrupted learning process
4) the unexpected cancellation of the original date (December 18th) the Final Exam was to take place without reasonable notification or reasoning from the Professor
Given the aforementioned reasons, we believe a Final Exam is unwarranted and unduly penalizes us for extraneous factors that were out of our control, while simultaneously being in the sole control of the Professor. Thus, we proclaim that we shall not take the Final Exam as an act of protest against this unfair treatment. Further, we petition against any and all penalization by the Borough of Manhattan Community College and/or Professor Michael Kent for this justifiable act.
