Justicefirst of world sent a letter to the President of the Senate and the French Media concerning a bill on the Islamic veil. This law would forbid women to be veiled in nurseries, leisure and vacation centers. It would apply to the nurses working in their home. This bill was proposed by the Radical Party and supported by other political parties including the Socialist Party. This letter is available on our blog: http://wordfirstjustice.wordpress.com According to a survey by an association against Islamophobia in France, here is a breakdown of violent acts against Muslims in France: On 152 acts listed, 115 of the victims are women, 22 are men, and the remaining 15 are acts against Muslims in general. Women are the main victims of Islamophobia in France, with 75,6% of the cases involving individuals. The acts of violence mostly occur in shopping and leisure centers (34 acts); followed by banks and public institutions (schools, universities, school trips) with 32 acts, workplaces (18) and the street (14). Despite our warnings against the dangers of stigmatization, the French government continues to approve discriminating bills. They even encourage Media and press to defame Islam, and then they invoke the freedom of expression and secularism. Today, we are protesting against Islamophobia and demonization of Islam! We do not want laws making tough the spiritual practice of Muslims people! We do not need more debates about secularism, there is no need to lie, and to hide; we know the target is Islam! We are protesting against the speeches of politicians, newspaper articles, and television interventions that blame Islam, create fear and show a false, dangerous, unfair image of Islam! We are only claiming our legal rights and the freedom to practice our religion like the Jews and Christians in Europe. We reject bigotry. We reject every act of hatred against people of Muslim faith in Europe. From now, any violation of the freedom of religion won’t be tolerated. If our governments do not take these requests seriously, and agree on discriminating laws against Muslims, a Tax boycott is planned. We encourage you to redirect your taxes to charitable programs.
