The corals in this bay are so unique and old. They do not exist anywhere outside the bay in such variety. It would be a crime to affect the tidal flows and water conditions by modifying the area especially with dredging. The silt could smother the corals as there is very little water exchange in this deep bay. The sediment would likely linger for years as it did at PRR after they built the man made islands at their beach and that place had more current than nikko bay and was outside of it.

I lived in Palau for two years in the 80's and was amazed by the natural beauty of the islands. The ecosystem is very fragile and tourism is a big part of the economy....but not this kind of tourism.

I vote NO! This area is pristine and should be kept that way. When do we stop with the "supposed" improvements that do nothing but ruin the very environment that bring tourism to Palau? There really is no stop to greed. I own a piece of property right by the proposed improvement. If this moves forward, than I will have no choice but lease or sell. Some things makes my blood boil!
