Petition against Crossman Fertiliser Project
Crossman residents have been told that a proposed fertiliser plant may be built within meters of waterways that flow into the Crossman river and ultimately into the Hotham and Murray rivers.
This plant will also be in direct line of site of a local tourist park, causing visual pollution, and will have future round-the-clock operation which may cause light and noise pollution to visitors and residents of the area.
Dust, smell and other airborne pollution is also a concern and will be much more heavily concentrated then with the current rural activities that occur in the area.
It is believed that the parties behind the proposal have already approached numerous other shires and have been told that the activities proposed would not be accepted as appropriate to the rural landscape.
We ask for support from the local community and visitors to the area - please help us influence the Shire of Boddington to reject this application.
