Shouting to the roof tops, NO!! Not now, not ever. Transplant the "economically challenged" into a like-minded neighborhood such as Grandview. I've lived in the same Northland neighborhood for 40 years. Ever since Gladstone starting taking in more Section 8 vouchers or providing more "income restricted" housing there's been a police officer shot at and a car jacking. Seriously? Watch the spike in crime if this development goes through. And if you think the "suburbs" are discriminatory take a drive through Parvin Estates or Brighton Townhomes. Tell me how that's worked out for the Northland.
I'll be utilizing my conceal and carry if this development goes through.

Totally opposed to high-density, subsidized development backing to single family housing development.

I am concerned with the impact this will have on our schools. I specifically moved to an area to avoid overcrowding.

No! Too many apartments already. Stresses the school system and the police and fire protection.

I do not support this development. It will increase student population in already crowded schools. It will increase crime. I cannot condone a negative impact to my community.

The Kansas City suburbs have a long-standing tradition of discriminatory housing practices. As long as there have been suburbs, there have groups like this one trying to keep minorities away from the suburbs. This petition is no different. If you want to discriminate against poor people and people of color, at least have the decency not to hide behind euphemisms like "charm and existing characteristics". This is just another example of the systemic racism that keeps minorities locked out of opportunities and maintains the status quo.

Life's not fair. We work hard to provide safety to our children. We struggle everyday to provide this and maybe those who take advantage of the government should get out and work. Maybe 2 jobs. We don't want trouble. Who worries about those who are here already. Who've worked hard to get here? We always get screwed. No!!! We work so we don't end up in those areas. Now you want to bring them to us? No. Maybe parents should take responsibility for their children. Not everyone else. Start there.
