worked all my life to be able to afford a decent environment to raise my family.now that i'm retired I want to keep it that way.Bringing in SUBsidised housing would be a quick blight on the whole northland area.

This is be a nightmare for our school distract and negatively impact our students. Residents of these apartments will = net loss!! They will take way more in services than they ever give back to community via taxes!

Don't need low income apartments up in this area due to the crime that follows low income families

One reason I am signing this petition is that I worked for a Section 8 for several years and I know first hand how quickly that residents in those developments can bring an area down especially if some are being subsidized by Section 8 and if they aren't they are in the same environment. We do not need Brinshore Development in this area that some have worked a lifetime to be able to live here and we do not need the low life and crime that it would bring to this area. Consider this as my firm Petition against this proposed Development.

These questions must be asked. What makes this area ideal for this type of housing? Is there adequate resources for public transportation, childcare, healthcare, education, special needs education, employment opportunities for skilled and unskilled labor (in excess of the amount of tenents expected)?
Many northlanders work outside the northland requiring commuting on a daily basis. How many commute to the northland for work and what type of work?
What would be the benefit to place people with limited resources in an area where they would need dependable transportation and spend a good part of there day commuting, needing school programs and ample child care to ever move out of section 8.

Moving people from one area to another doesn't do anything to slove problem or blight. It just creates more. Property valyes will decrease, current and future businesses will lose revenue. The northland area is already low on emergency response personnel with an average call response time by police is 15 minutes. Residents already living in the area will eventually move out if the area, therefore causing the same situation that currently exists in the Paseo area. Stay out if the Northland.

Please don't build this development here. There is not adequate infrastructure to support these residents, minimal public transportation, minimal food stores and the idea of bussing students to three different districts is a travesty and waste of taxpayers money,

Do not move section 8 here. This is an inner city issue and should be FIXED by the inner city. You move them here you will get crime, period, no if, ands, or buts about it, that is what will happen. It is a hard truth whether you like it or not.
