Find these residents a better suitable place within their current community where they have resources and can remain a part of their own community. Only 27 of the 154 families have cars and only 12 work. We don't have the resources they require in the Northland for them to survive. Additionally, educational resources that these kids will require will over burden an already stressed system. There are not enough special services in place for these kids.

This type of development does not belong in the area proposed! Additionally, there is already extensive multi-unit new housing being built all over the Northland and this could result in vacancy/solvency issues.

This would ruin the area if passed.

This a is why we fight annexation of a city unable to support its own subsidization of the urban core. Spreading the wealth and the nuisance only harms established strongholds that honest hardworking citizens have invested their money, time and lives into.

I agree with this petition. My neighbhood is 5 min away from this area. We just fought off Walmart for now. My suggestions to who ever started this petition is to keep an eye on the docket for the developer to try and rezone the area. Contact all of the City Council members in the zoning and planning with this petition. Contact all the radio stations and news channels. Ariel Rothfield with 41 action news did a story with us. We also got crime stats for the area where the closest Walmart to us and compared them to the stats where we are. Crimereports.com is a great site. You can put in the address of where this development is now and compare it to the stats of where they are wanting to move over here. I would add that information to the petition. When the developer does schedule a hearing the best way to spread the date for us was through our neighborhood association email to everyone, we passed out 100's of flyers to our neighborhood and surrounding neighborhoods and businesses. Most of the people we talked to had no idea what was going on. Anyone can go to the hearing for zoning and the more that go the better, The Walmart developer, and City Council was watching our petition and the developer backed down before the zoning hearing.
