It has been exactly 40 years since the debut of Peter Puck, the much loved animated feature in the first intermission of NHL games. Created by Hanna-Barbera and including the voice of Micky Dolenz, the Peter Puck episodes captured the hearts of devoted hockey kids and beyond.

Despite his contribution, Peter is not yet in the Hockey Hall of Fame. In fact there are no cartoon characters (yet) but he would fit nicely in the Builders category alongside broadcasters who commented and taught us between the periods. 

It is time to recognize Peter's contribution to hockey and to induct him into the Hockey Hall of Fame. Perhaps if there are enough signatures, the nomination committee will recognize the "old poke-check professor".
