PET REPTILES ARE NOT WILD ANIMALS

I believe in the value of owning a reptile, from a gecko to a ball python, as a companion a buddy and a loved and cherished pet.

I had an iguanna for years and she was absolutely loving and improved my life greatly!

Pet reptiles are not wild ❤️

I've owned a wide variety of reptiles for about 5 years now and they are some of the coolest, most gentle creatures you could possibly own. Snakes only need to be fed once or twice a week, making them great pets for people who work a lot and don't have the time to give a dog or cat the attention and affection it needs. Lots of reptiles make wonderful pets for people with anxiety or disabilities as they are slow moving and gentle. I've had over 50 reptiles, ranging from snakes to geckos to turtles and frogs. I've never been bit or hurt once by any of them. I hope that this law gets revised and people get to own these beautiful and calm animals freely.

Yes! That’s one of my arguments. The logic here suggests that every pet fish requires a permit. Insane!

I believe they also need to address some of the restricted pets like burmese pythons. There are dwarf versions that stay 6-8 foot never close to 10 foot and over!! The laws need to be gone over with experienced reptile owners, breeders and hobbiests that know and understand the species not just some random offical that has never owned a reptile!!

Reptiles make amazing companions and get people involved in conservation. By learning about and interacting with reptiles in a safe and friendly way, children and adults alike learn more about the world around us and become more aware of animal rights

I'm not registering my leapord gecko what next I have to licence my goldfish I think not good luck but this makes me want to go get another reptile

If the people who made/supported these bylaws actually knew ANYTHING about these animals, they'd realize how absolutely ridiculous that crap is

Stop trying to take peoples animals! Completely ignorant.

Good reptile keepers make sure that the well being of the animal is of utmost importance.

Reptiles are not dangerous most can not survive in are winter time tempatures and there not dangerous are spcas and veterinarians should be the ones having to actually be taught about them its silly they send there helpers in blind not knowing the difference between a bearded dragon and a gecko please let us teach you

Many types of reptiles have been breeding for generations and are no longer wild. They make excellent pets as they are quiet and do not produce allergies in people.

There should not have to be a permeant

Reptile are not harmful what’s so ever more people been hurt by dogs then snakes geckos and really any reptile.

This is ridiculous. If the animal can't be immediately released back into its surroundings, it's not wild. If it can be purchased from a pet store, it's not wild. If it is not illegal to own the animal in Canada/BC, it should not be classified as wild. This is outrageous.
