Besides eliminating the use of a suspected carcinogen, the implementation of weeding days will also increase the degree of ownership that parents, kids and community members have for the Head Start program

This is VERY SERIOUS. Please, return to safe environmental practices for our safety. Stop contributing to the drug companies by making people sick and the endless loop of prescriptions for symptoms caused by shortcuts to caregiving our precious environment.

From the USEPA: "Children are at a greater risk for some pesticides for a number of reasons. Children's internal organs are still developing and maturing and their enzymatic, metabolic, and immune systems may provide less natural protection than those of an adult. There are "critical periods" in human development when exposure to a toxin can permanently alter the way an individual's biological system operates." From the American Academy of Pediatrics: "Epidemiologic evidence demonstrates associations between early life exposure to pesticides and pediatric cancers, decreased cognitive function, and behavioral problems."

If Cave Junction is now a "Bee Safe" city, then suspending the use of glyphosate herbicides should be put into practice since many studies are showing that Roundup harms bees and other pollinators

STOP spraying toxic chemicals -- period! It is irresponsible at the very least and ultimately criminal knowing the harm they cause to human, animal and plant. STOP SPRAYING ALL TOXIC CHEMICALS!

To spray Roundup on an area used by children is very dangerous; this poison can survive far longer than realized and is now recognized as a highly toxic endocrine disruptor.
