Education is the heart beat of our nation. Today more so than ever before, a degree is required to obtain a good paying job. Most students who are studying today need to earn a Master’s degree or even a PhD to secure a job in their field upon graduation.  However, every semester the cost of obtaining this education is raised, and the average student can no longer afford to go to school without taking out loans. This seems hypocritical since we strive to teach money management to our youth. Debt consolidation companies are making a killing because student loans have become as accepted as a car payment, or mortgage.

We need to tell the government that they have it all wrong! Quit raising the cost of education and forcing students to go into debt in order to receive a diploma. Lower the cost of education; make it more affordable for the average student and family. Put education back on the list of priorities for this nation. Then we can compete with other countries in industry and engineering because we will have qualified individuals who were able to achieve their goal and give back to their country.
