We do not agree with anyone having the right to just come on to our property. We support changing the by-law to reflect this.

Everyone knows it costs $50k-$200k more for all Perth east buildings because of the out of control building inspector. Let’s put together a pro business slate of people for the next election and clean up this mess. Will be easy to get votes, start with every builder in Perth east, they will each know 50 people who want that building inspector gone

The government has overstepped its boundaries. There is not sufficient cause to subjugate the freedoms of the citizenry. This law, with its sweeping generalization, will give more occasion for its abuse rather than correct application, especially as it aggrandizes the bureaucracy, which can only aggrandize the corruption that comes with bigger government. Get a warrant. Trust the citizenry. We support community, not communism. Matthew and Mary-Kate Zepf

Emailed to Don Brunk, July 20, 2018 Hello Don, Lorraine and I wish to inform you we DO NOT agree with the Property Standards By-law changes made by Perth East Council on April 3rd., 2018. We will not allow our Charter of Rights to be violated and certainly not by some township official trespassing on our property no matter what title placed on him/her! You as a council DO NOT have a “Gestapo Type” of warrantless authourity to violate anyones property privacy without a proper authourized warrant from a judicial authourity approved by the submission of proven facts to validate the appropriate requested warrant. If this should ever occur to us, I assure you, we would sue the township until the cows came home and the suit would be the shot-gun type including yourself as an individual now having the knowledge of our position on this matter. Please ensure the full council is aware of our stance and I suggest your deemed legal resources are made aware. Perth East Council as a governing body, should stop incurring more and more rules and regulations that are not needed and are not wanted. We have lived in our home for 45 years and in what is now known as Perth East and we and our friends and neighbours have gotten along just fine without new regulations and changes to suffciient existing regulations such as referred to above. Sincerely, Murray Hall

Perth East- No to warrantless entry! Unbelievable that this would pass. Obviously counsel needs a wake up call. Also the worst township to have to deal with the building department, by far! I’m glad cousel has extra money to send out flyers vs just listening to what the tax payers are requesting. Only through people standing up will things change!! They work for us , not the other way around. And they’d be best to be reminded of that !!
