Sponsor and Donor Petition Directed at the Entertainment and Fashion Industry A Critical Agenda to Raise Money for the Protection-Education and Lobbying For the Right To Personhood for Great Apes of Central Africa Target: United States Congress Directed To: Congresswoman Maxine Waters 2344 Rayburn House Office Building Washington DC 20515 202.225.2201 Target United: Nations Environment Programme Directed To: Dr. Klaus Toepfer, the Executive Director of UNEP United Nations Avenue, Gigiri PO Box 30552, 00100 Nairobi, Kenya (254-20) 621234 Required Signatures 20,000 Petition Close: June 1, 2006 Prim8 Fund is seeking letters of recommendation and strong moral support of the US. Congress, the Cameroon Embassy, Washington DC. and the Ministry of Environment and Protection of Nature Cameroon Africa. In the provision of recommendation letters, Prim8 Fund is requesting that the Entertainment and Fashion Industry worldwide become leading financial donors and sponsors in order to provide lawful protection and educational programs about the \"right to personhood\" of the Great Apes in the Eastern Provinces of Cameroon Africa. Prim8 Fund, in a joint effort with the Cameroon Ozone Club proposes to carry out an education project in the East Province Cameroon. The target audience is the forest-dwelling people and villagers in this area. We will design and develop an Outreach program in conjunction with the local people, for the villages of the East Province (notably in around the Dja Reserve, a World Heritage Site that has - at the last count - over 100 hunting camps inside its boundaries). The strategy of the education project is based on the premise that long-term change can only be affected by those most closely associated with the issues. In order to foster this sense of ownership local people need to be involved in any process of change through discussion and input to solutions. This will be achieved in the design, development, and delivery phases of the education project. To successfully launch our \"right to personhood\" and educational project, it will cost a minimal $ 300,000.00 a year. The forest-dwelling people, villagers, and schools can no longer remain in the dark about the plight of the Great Apes and the destruction of the rain forest. This project, without a doubt, needs severe attending too as soon as possible. Gorillas and Chimpanzees are being hunted, exploited, exported, used for research and thrown into zoos like \"slaves\" for material gain. This must stop! When you have top sellers such as Eminem, Nelly, U2 and Shania Twain, who have made the music industry into a $32 billion industry, Prim8 believes you should not have to look too far for donors and sponsors. Jennifer Lopez\'s line, J.Lo, racked up $130 million in sales last year. Rocawear, founded by Jay-Z and entrepreneur and music producer Damon Dash, and Baby Phat, founded by Russell Simmons, each earned $300 million. P. Diddy\'s Sean John line brought in $450 million last year. It was announced Jan. 8. 2004 that Simmons\' Phat Farms was sold to the Kellwood Co. for an estimated $140 million in cash and a share of future revenue. Something just doesn
