The international community confirmed that sanctions impacting medical procurement are now lifted. We have successfully secured the removal of these barriers to essential hospital equipment. I will monitor the arrival of these supplies to ensure the policy shift translates into immediate relief for our patients.

Dear colleagues and friends,
Unfortunately still the economic sanctions against Sudan playing a major role in killing Sudanese people through the lack the needed Medicines, equipment ,consumable and urgently needed technology to provide telemedicine services or even teletriaging as life saving health services during the Covid-19 pandemic ..
We urge our Transitional government and the international community to make more extensive efforts to lift sanctions against Sudanese people ...
Tele triaging is life saving for individuals but also for the whole community during Covid-19 pandemic.. our people and hospitals in Sudan are now deprived and lacking this important service due to the sanctions..
Lift up sanctions against Sudanese people #

I have finalized a formal briefing document outlining how these sanctions prevent the delivery of essential teletriaging technology to our hospitals. This document is now being delivered to the offices of key international trade representatives for review. I will report back on any official responses as soon as they are received.

The growth of this movement has caught the attention of regional policy analysts who are now reviewing our proposal. I am currently coordinating a meeting with representatives to present our formal request for the removal of humanitarian restrictions on medical equipment and technology.

We've been hoping to see some relief from the US sanction imposed for quite sometime. Although some actions were made but as we all know it's not going to be lifted by pressing a button. More action is required from the US administration if they've really agreed and are willing to honor their own statements about the sanctions being lifted and giving Sudan a chance to rise again, at least with the fundamentals and allowing the Sudanese government some flexibility to acquire supplies.
