I am concerned that with the recent problems with the former head of the board of directors that money is not going where it should be......to the school or the care of the students. My daughter does board at the school, and while she loves her classes, the dorm leaves something to be desired. It is hard to have her away from home, and it would be comforting to know that these concerns and issues are being addressed.

Even last year I think there were only two functioning water coolers. For a while I think only the girls wing had a water cooler.

My granddaughter attends Perpich, I was surprised when I went into the dorm to see how run down the building looks as well as the old cinder block walls. I bet the students would volunteer to help create murals, paint, clean and declutter storage areas, etc.

One of the coolest things about Perpich is that it's a state wide school. With this dorm system, it draws kids that have an artistic passion to apply and pursue their craft. In that reason alone no one should have to downgrade their living situations for their education. For how much students pay to be in the dorm, there's no explanation for any of this. Good luck! Let your voices be heard!

I don't live in the dorms but it's ridiculous that people supposed to take care of students are providing basic needs

As a state-funded organization and one dedicated to promoting education, this neglect is unseemly. Students can't create art or learn properly when their basic needs aren't being provided for adequately. As an alumni who's lived in Delta Dorm in similar conditions in recent years, I can't say I expect better, but I'd certainly hope for it. If you care about your students, and not just the glossy graduation rate, show it.
