As a visiting granny ( unable to park ) I wholeheartedly support this petition. I have witnessed the frustration and upset that this causes both for working parents and nannies, it seems ludicrous that people trying their best to do their daily work are hindered in such a way.

This is an important issue for working parents, without nanny childcare my husband and I would not be able to do our jobs as hospital doctors. There are several solutions here- recognise nannies as carers (how can they not be seen as carers of children) such that they are eligible to apply for work related permits, or allow the family they are employed in to add them as a vehicle registration on their permits (thus for the nanny's car to be parked with a permit, one of the homeowners vehicles would need to be elsewhere- at their work address in most cases during the 9 to 5 period- or parked with a scratch card/pay and display ticket).

I think its disgusting that people that work in a community with parking permits arnt allowed a free permit to do their job.

It's not helpful having to park miles away when you have lots of kids, bags shopping etc to get to and from the car!!!

As a nanny for the past 18years, I know how hard it is to get children around from A to B!! It's totally impractical to always use public transport during the very long hours we work! Fir example; The park & ride closes before half if us finish work!! This issue needs to be rectified so nannies, as professionals, have the same access to parking permits like our fellow London nannies do!

Being a nanny is providing care, a service for children and their families. This needs to be more widely recognised, and have business permits given out to those providing this care. Simply "getting a bike" as advised by the absolute idiot Mayor of Bristol, is not only the worst possible advice, but also unsafe!

Nannies are professional qualified carers. Many of us like my self have been nannying for over 20 years a we are all OFSTED registered we all have a minimum qualification of a NVQ level 3 or a NNEB we have DBS checks we do on going training every 3 years first aid ect .. I emphasised the above point as I feel that the Bristol City council and George Ferguson do not appreciate that WE ARE professional working people AND need access to our work places to do our jobs!! As the current government in power have recently made a point of trying to make child care easier for working families !! The fact that our bosses have to give all there permits to us and have none left for friends, family and trades people is ridiculous, this is a really problem which can be easily solved .... Please put us down on the list as a trade or to have a residental permit ..

Because of RPZ my ukulele group has had to try and find a new venue as we can not park in Montpelier any more

I don't understand why households are being limited to 100 visitor permits per year. We'll be using a nanny share for two days per week and my mum for one day a week. Expecting my 70yr old mum to cycle to look after my children is a little unreasonable! Our nanny can't cycle or use public transport as the logistics of cars and car seats are just too difficult. Nannies have contracts so why can't they be used as proof so they can apply for a permit?
