PETITION TO STOP CONCRETE & ROCK CRUSHING OPERATION IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD OF: POETRY COMMUNITY, TERRELL ISD, SW HUNT COUNTY

Together, we demand cancelation and/or revocation of permit(s), currently 125859 & associated Screening Plants 1 & 2 Permit #86713L001 (expiration 4/20/2019) that will allow R. EVANS, LLC (Responsible Party) dba Quality Construction Products or any other OWNER/OPERATOR to operate said facility in our neighborhood due to air emissions from operation of facilities, including all ancillary equipment, as well as impacts expected to groundwater, storm water quality, and any other impacts such as traffic, noise, and ecological. We appeal to TCEQ / LOCAL COMMISSIONERS / ELECTED AUTHORITIES to assist in protecting our neighborhood against expected HEALTH and/or SAFETY IMPACTS as well as dangers and damages this operation will cause due to the immediate location of said operation in the neighborhood.

We understand the TCEQ has an obligation to entities who may qualify to operate and perform services that we all depend upon in our daily lives; And we appreciate your diligent efforts. However, we respectfully request that full consideration be given regarding impacts this facility will have on the community of individuals and families who live in the immediate vicinity, as well as other concerns as noted above. Please fulfill your obligation in protecting us.

Updates

March 27, 2015

R. Evans, LLC thinks they can just walk into our neighborhood and poison our air while the TCEQ looks the other way. We are currently tracking every move these corporate suits make and preparing our next legal filing against this facility. Do not let them think we are going to walk away from this fight.

I strongly oppose. Safety and property values and noise are my major concerns. Trucks will certainly attempt to drive thru our neighborhood As a shortcut just as in the past. This leads to increased traffic and deterioration of our roads.

We just recently moved to Poetry from Baltimore, MD with hopes to offer our children a quieter, cleaner quality of life. We know all too well the effects of poor air quality and noisy machines at all hours of the day. I ask that you please do not approve the permit for a concrete and rock crushing operation so close to the quiet neighborhood that I chose for my family. Thank you.

The rock crushing operation is noisy loud and dusty. When the crusher is an operation we have a fun layer of dust all over cars, all over our floors, and filling up our air conditioning systems. I do not know about the health hazards related to concrete crushing but I do not want to breathe that dust.

We recently moved from Austin to the Poetry Community to get away from the air pollution and noise found in the city. There will be a detrimental impact to our quiet enjoyment of our home and property values as well as create noise and particulate emissions in a known tranquil area if the proposed rock & concrete crushing facility is provided a permit to operate now or in the future.

My parents have adjoining property to this purposed plant. No only do they both have serious health issues, including COPD and a rare autoimmune disorder, their property value should be considered.

This would not be good for our area, school buses with children and our livestock.

Air quality is bad enough this close to Dallas. A concrete plant will cause those of us with breathing problems to have to stay indoors. We do not need that fine dust this close to us. Will cause our property value to decline.

This would be extremely dangerous for our neighbors who have asthma and COPD.
