Argyll is suffering from awful infrastructure. Is it any wonder our population is shrinking?

this road is a lifeline to the people who live and work there. I see no reason why the road cannot be sorted as all the roads abroad are constructed, with tunnels or canopies which cover the road and make it impossible for any debris to land on the road!

Argylls economy will never improve with an unreliable road. A canopy as used in other countries should solve the problems and would be far cheaper than a tunnel or bridge crossing the Clyde

The A83 RaBT is critical to Argyll's economy. To steal a phrase from the 'big man' we need to hold the Scottish Government's 'feet to the fire' on this one to ensure our voices are heard and a proper solution is found. The SG is spending money all over the Central Belt and east coast - get some spent over here.

It is now clear that the fencing barriers that have been erected are a inneffective and a complete waste of money. You only have to view the scale of it from the other side of the military road. Overdue for a proper solution to this.

I visited this area for the first time this year and drove along the A83 with its stunning views. I cannot imagine the disruption it would cause for the locals and tourists if the road is closed. It seems to be high time that a solution is now found for this problem.

A permanent solution should be found for the people of Scotland and the visitors who come to see the spectacular scenery of Argyll and Bute

This road is not just used by local people from Argyll but people who come here to see our beautiful scenery. Were now into the 21st century and putting up with sub-standard roads is a total insult to the people of Argyll and Scotland. When are the powers that be going to get their act together and come back on to the planet. The A83 should have a cover over the road no matter what the cost, after all Edinburgh got its Trams goodness knows what purpose they serve and at what a cost!!!!. Are they going to wait until there are awful fatalities do they want that on their conscience.

Heavy downpours of rain continue to cause landslides and we need to allow them to slide off over a half tunnel like on the continent

The "shed" solution, as used in Austria, Switzerland etc. should be used. It may be less expensive than most other schemes.

In this day and age it is unbelievable this has not been sorted out long before now

Absolutely essential and long overdue please let's stop wasting everyone's money on cheap, nasty and rubbish schemes and do the job properly for once and be done.

If this were Austria, France, Switzerland, Germany or Italy, EU neighbours who KNOW about mountains and hills, with a tunnel or a shed or a an excavation. The money would have been spent once and that would have been that. The military road non-solution just illustrates the cock-eyed thinking of our local politicians. This major route to the west should have a motorway priority.

If this was the main access route to the Scottish Parliament it would have been resolved by now. Spend some money in rural areas rather than always on your back door ministers!!! I had to endure over a 3 hour detour home last night due to the A83 & A82 being closed. How is the new bridge coming along by the way??
