Effective September 1, 2020, LAHSA plans to reopen offices amid a current spike in confirmed COVID-19 positive cases. This change will undoubtedly bring the option for full-time telework to an end.
Full-time and part-time telework options have certainly attributed to zero reports of COVID-19 confirmed cases within the organization and have facilitated an increase in morale and overall worker satisfaction. Approximately 20-30% of LAHSA employees have indicated a desire to continue teleworking, indefinitely.
We, the undersigned, are concerned employees of LAHSA who urge our Administration and leaders to act now to implement options for permanent telework.

I am honestly overwhelmed by the momentum this is gaining and I never imagined so many people felt the same way. This is your energy and your commitment proving how much we all value these changes.

Great idea. This has worked well during the last almost 4 months. Less time wasted commuting. Start work refreshed instead of already abused by the commute. Thank you for considering this!
May be forced to retire if forced back to work. Doctor will not clear me to work outside my home and cannot be around more than 2 people that must have gloves on and a mask, 6 feet away for less than 15 mins.
working fromm home has been great for a home/work life balanced environment, most importantly it helps society as a whole in keeping safe in attempts to reduce the spread of covid during this pandemic.
Our unit has proven to be as effective, if not more so, working from home. We have adjusted all training curriculum during the pandemic and have highly increased usage of the intervention to quickly resolve the housing crisis of folks experiencing homelessness during the past 3 months - all from remote work. I stand with the option for permanent remote work.
LAHSA can save a lot on overhead costs like leasing less number of floors, reducing parking and transportation costs, etc. by allowing concerned employees to telecommute.
I think this should be and options for staff due to the situation right now.
We all deserve the option to stay well, and protect our families.

For LAHSA staff who have typically been office-based, there is no safer working condition now than working from home full-time, especially when COVID cases are currently surging in California and across the country.
