he helped raise the spirits of the whole country in our worst time with one swing of the bat. was a leader in the club house and deserves to be honored in his retirement. and who knows maybe it'll help get him into the hof like he deserves. the best hitting catcher of all time deserves a plaque in Cooperstown and his own spot on the wall in queens!

Retire #31! Mike carried the team on his back for years and healed our city with his home run! He got curtain calls and standing ovations from the fans as a padre and athletic! The roar he got when introduced for his mets hall of fame induction says it all! Let's get him to Cooperstown in 2015!! Let's really send a message to Cooperstown!

#31 should have been retired years ago and be up on the outfield wall next to Tom, Casey & Gil. The fact that it took 8 years before the Mets brass put him in the Mets HOF is ridiculous as well!!
