In China, Foxconn workers die for a variety of reasons. The first is suicide, the second being overwork. The factories managed by Foxconn are not specifically at fault for these deaths, but their lack of monitering the factory workers. Even underage workers, the Foxconn Corporation in China refused to allow students to graduate if they were not working in the factory. Even when the workers were committing suicide by jumping off from the buildings, Foxconn trapped them even farther by setting up a fence around the open areas of the building to make sure that the workers cannot jump from the building to their death. Even toxic chemicals are used without any concern for the actual workers. For example, two years ago, 137 workers at an Apple supplier in eastern China were injured after they were ordered to use a poisonous chemical to clean iPhone screens. Within seven months last year, two explosions at iPad factories, including in Chengdu, killed four people and injured 77. This Must Stop Today.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. how can a company just put up fences instead of fixing the actual problem? my heart breaks for those poor workers.

its crazy that we just ignore this stuff because we want the new iphone every year. stop buying this trash until they actually treat people like humans.
