Otep Shamaya lead & creator of the band Otep has has been repeatedly blocked from her own page by Facebook for simply standing up for herself and others against those coming to her personal page to spread hate against her, who she is, and what she stands for. Meanwhile Facebook continues to do nothing against any of the haters who have made lewd comments about her sexuality, who have threatened her life and basically all around thrown hate at her. It has become so bad that Facebook has even threatened to shut down or block her band's Facebook page. So to prevent this ordeal from affecting her band she is having to leave Facebook all together in order to protect her band/band page. This is a huge injustice. Please sign this petition and let Facebook know how you feel.

Her life was threatened and the hate filled slurs towards her were extremely offensive and cruel. Facebook blocked her for defending herself.
You are never too big to fail despite what some may think. People are watching you "Facebook" and your days are numbered if you deem harassment acceptable.
If anything...it should be those who are attacking who should be shut down. She is only defending herself and others from the extreme hate and bigotry that ignorance allows to happen, instead of spending joy and happiness, love for one another.

Freedom of speech, has that been banned too? Otep has the right to defend herself. It's the haters who should be banned! I stand with her and the LGTBQ community even though I'm not LGTBQ. Hate is wrong and doesn't belong in our society!!
