No gift to legislators or public officials should be permitted. These laws that state gifts for (personal enrichments, influnce, promised action, etc.) leave loop holes. Who can prove why the gifts were given? Too many legislators have a legal background and pass laws that require legal representation to defend; job security. Also reduce the number of elected officals.

This practice has gotten entirely out of hand. With full-time pay for part-time work, plus outrageous benefits, I think they get enough!
