Quoting from the Penn State Alma Mater “May no act of ours bring shame” — Well, this is shameful.

As a PSU alumni, I am alarmed that our university leadership allowed gambling advertising to students. Please reverse direction on this as this was a terrible decision Mark Rothgeb

Online gambling has already had a devastating effect on a significant number of Penn State students, and online promotions will enable the problem to become much worse, very rapidly.

I was appalled at seeing gambling advertisements during the broadcast of the PSU-WVU game. Please end this practice immediately.

Most research indicates that gambling efforts of this type to not produce a net gain for the local community. Furthermore, a University has no business promoting this type of activity - it is clearly not within the scope of the University's mission.

This is an appalling practice that is addictive, destructive, and produces no other true fi products than loss, sorrow, and terror. It is morally wrong and Penn state should distance themselves from it.

Thank you for all the mostly thankless work you're doing to protect the young people in State College, whether part of PSU or not. Much appreciated!!
