Wake County School board is treating the Leesville Elementary School district unfairly. I hope everyone steps up and signs this petition if you live in the area.

And they wonder why they can't afford to give teachers a raise. Buses are expensive to operate and this senseless busing is costing our children's education. Neighborhood schools are a no brainer. Come on School Board members this is not rocket science here.

To remove the choice of LRMS students and force them to attend the new Pine Hollow year round middle is unfair and inappropriate. Children have made the transition to the larger group at LRMS & worked to become a part of the Leesville community only to have the insecurity and fear of it being potentially removed without a choice. Saying our calendar option is only an option if there is room is not an actually option. One choice is not a choice. People choose these locations for the neighborhood schools of Leesville and for the opportunity for their children to follow a path of socialization and learning. My four children no longer want to be on the maiden voyage of WCPSS decisions on their behalf.

We sold our previous home in RTP that was right inside the Durham County line bc we wanted to be able to walk our children to school in the mornings. With the proposed changes, we lose that ability even though I can hear the Leesville HS marching band practicing from our front porch. It's ridiculous & unacceptable. We want to be heavily involved in our children's education & PTA. Adding 40+ mins of daily commute (assuming no traffic delays) will reduce how much we can volunteer. Did I mention we paid a lot more $ for this house plus higher taxes specifically for its location & schools. Very disappointed.

It's horrible to bus kids down a major highway when there is a school just minutes away.

All of the local Leesville neighborhoods affected by this proposed are very upset. Me included!

It doesn't make sense to go to the school that 20 mins away from our home, when our base school now is less than 3 mins away.

It's really not creating efficiency but trouble for us to let our boys and girls to go to school about 10 times more minutes during peak hours;

The drop off location is changed, and I think this is not a good idea, because the place is too far away to school. I don't think this will be safe to every student. Hope school can reconsider this again. Thank you

It is not right to let the kids go to their school on the highway in the rush hour and away from home 8 miles. Now the school is away from our home 2 miles.

Busing kids increases air pollution, puts their lives at risk on the road and most importantly makes it more difficult for parents to be involved in their children's education. Parental involvement is critical to a child's success in school
