The volume of support has now reached a level that forces a response from the council office. I am finalizing a formal request for a meeting with the electoral officer to ensure the ballot count happens immediately when the polls close.

Too much shady stuff happens when they start moving boxes around. Keep it transparent and count them immediately.

Just count them right there at the polls. Why is there even a debate about this? We want to see the results same day.
