We just moved into a new house in Sylvan Heights ....relocated from the Washington DC area. Sidewalks are desperately needed in this area to promote walkability to neighboring area businesses.

The scariest part of my near daily walk is from the tunnel to the corner of 37th and Nebraska. I am petrified to drive through there on a bike; and I would never try it on my rollerblades. If I was a mother, I would never walk through there with my child. It is way too dangerous. Please help us here. We should not feel that way in our neighborhood.

A sidewalk through the tunnel would ultimately make me feel safer driving through, especially at night, when pedestrians are hard to see!

Our son and daughter j. Law have been looking at homes in sylvan park. We are from out of town and made a comment about they needed sidewalks to be safe for walking to and from the wonderful areas that surround the homes!

Sidewalks are great! Walking so closely to cars is a frightening experience!

Running and walking my dog through this area is usually pretty terrifying. I am not sure if there have been any injuries yet, but there are bound to be some accidents in this high foot traffic/vehicle traffic area if a sidewalk is not put in. Please let's address this issue before someone is injured.

This project is long overdue. I've lived in SH for 21 years and have always felt that the train overpass is a tragedy waiting to happen for a walker, jogger, or biker. Now, with the new stop signs and that portion of the road (essentially) being designated as a single lane, a remedy should be pretty simple.

My daughter and granddaughter live in Sylvan Heights. We visit once a month. It is impossible to go for a walk!
