The State of Maryland has passed legislation requiring that motorists stop at designated crosswalks. We urge the State Highway Administration and local jurisdictions to erect signage to enforce this requirement. Signage should clearly state: "Notice: Motorist must stop at ALL crosswalks - Maryland Law." Public safety should be the top priority for all of our state and local officials! This petition originated in northeastern Baltimore County, but we support broader pedestrian safety measures throughout the state of Maryland.
