As a Kelfield resident with a child due to start pre-school in Cawood, and commuting to work in Leeds, pedestrian access would be a minimum requirement, second only to keeping it open altogether.

My son works as an apprentice in York and relies on public transport. Please ensure that alternative viable and cost effective public transport options are available. Having no transport options would seriously jeopardise his ability to work.

As working parents, without any temporary pedestrian access we will be unable to leave work near York and get home in time to collect our child from our village after school activities and afterschool club before closing time.
To go alternative routes in peak traffic times through Selby will add on at least another very precious 1 hour.

Scandalous that the bridge is being shut to strengthen it for a bus company that ever threatened to pull route as being unprofitable. Clearly not the people who count here and they should not be penalised by having life made incredibly difficult because of grasping for profit by a global corporation.

Surely a better solution could have been done to help residents and businesses who use the bridge rather than it be closed completely for 20 weeks

Let the residents park far side and walk across to save the extra traffic through Selby or Ulleskelf.

Every effort should be made for pedestrian access, otherwise the pubs, post office/shop and garden centre/café will all suffer.

I need to get my daughter to school in Escrick every day and the detour will be huge. Also we are both Dr's who work and are on call for York so the bridge closure will impact massively on our commute and response times for emergencies.

As a woman due to give birth during the closure, pedestrian access is vital to me for the saftly of myself and my child if i need to get to york hospital in an emergency. I have family at the otherside who could collect me so i dont plan on cluttering the road up with cars.

It is essential that at very least pedestrian access is maintained across the river during the works. Anything less would isolate Cawood and harm the village community and its businesses.

Please ensure that the two sides are not isolated during any work. This would be a disaster for businesses and for personal reasons for all the affected villages.
