We, the undersigned students and faculty members of California public schools, are opposed to proposed legislation to remove show choir, marching band and dance from the list of acceptable physical education courses, as per Education Code, sections 51222 and 51241. Since these organizations all get the amount of physical activity required by the state per week, there is no logical reason why these classes should not be granted physical education credit.
