We can not stand and watch our sister suffer at the hands of Ugandan authorities. By deporting Pearl , Sweden is denying a young girl(daughter) a future free from discrimination and harassment.

Pearl is a woman, a mother and a lesbian woman and a Ugandan. These categories already expose her to distinctive forms of oppression, discrimination and exclusion. The Swedish migration office should reconsider their decision on deporting a mother and a lesbian identifying women who has built her life in Sweden for past few years. By deporting her Sweden contravenes it's commitment to protect migrants and it's commitment to protect women and children from facing violations . Sweden should understand that the deportation of Pearl will further expose her and the child to violation and humiliation on arrival in Uganda. The Swedish migration by deporting Pearl will be handing her over to Ugandan authorities who will place her under possible detention and she will be victimised with a possibility of being charged under the Penal-Code Section 145(unnatural sexual offenses). Noting the current escalating human rights violations in Uganda towards activists and anyone who speaks out. The plight of LGBTI migrants, refugees, asylum seekers is a big concern and the treatment of LGBTI people is undeniably a painful experience for most of us. SWEDEN - IF YOU DEPORT PEARL, PLEASE NOTE THAT : 1. THE UGANDAN MIGRATIONS ARE ALREADY WAITING TO VICTIMIZE HER COZ OF HER SEXUAL ORIENTATION 2. THE EMOTIONAL TRAUMA CAUSED BY THIS PROCESS ON MOTHER AND CHILD WILL BE UNBEARABLE IF PEARL IS DEPORTED 3. THE VIOLATIONS, ACTS OF FURTHER VICTIMIZATION OR POSSIBLE DETENTION AND INTERFERENCE OF MOTHER AND CHILD'S WELLBEING WILL BE AT THE HANDS OF SWEDEN WE ARE CALLING ON SWEDEN TO REVOKE THE DECISION OF DEPORTATION AND RATHER PROTECT PEARL AND HER DAUGHTER FROM THE TORMENT IN UGANDA.

Please keep her under the protection of the Swedish government. I write from experience as a person who lived openly, as a LGBT individual and activist in Uganda and had to flee for my safety. Pearl was out in Uganda and that puts both her and her daughter at risk. This is real in Uganda and I plead that you allow her to stay in Sweden.

Pearl will definitely be in danger as a same sex loving woman if deported but more so her child who is not only likely to be destitute but physically abused and harmed to punish Pearl. I appeal to the Swedish government to protect them!
