Our family is extremely concerned for the safety of our children, pets, and entire neighborhood. The lack of restraint for the 2 large grey dogs has resulted in severe injuries to my cocker spaniel who has been our family member for 12 years. This incident that occured on May 21st at 9:30am was witnessed first hand by my babies Madilyn 3 years old and Carson 6 years old. Our dog was on a leash on our own property when these unrestrained dogs malled and tore into Daisy! Sadly my keikis about 5 feet away witnessed this brutal, bloody, deathly attack. Daisy was hospitallized with severe tissue and nerve damage resulting in punctures 1 inch deep to 1-4 inches wide. I tried kicking one dog off Daisy and it lunged and jumped into me growling me off. At that moment I had to let my dog become lunch meat as I feared for my life. I screamed bloody murder while my dog was attacked for minutes before a owner was able to remove them. The animal doctor said Daisy is lucky to be alive. In the last 6 months I have confronted the owners at 6-8 Waikalani Hema Place that their dogs have been seen running freely and come into my yard! I told them that could never ever happen because her dogs could kill my dog. They were apologetic but still have not followed through with proper fensing and restraints. Above all, our safety and peace of mind needs to be ensured. I fear for my children's lives and we all need to be protected and feel safe at home!!! A metal crate to contain the dogs in their residence needs to be enforced, as well as securing a fence that is long and high enough to provide back up restraint across their driveway!!! As concerned neighbors, who want to provide a peaceful resolution, this situation needs to be dealt with in a responsible and immidiate manner.
